1. What's a fear that you had before launching your podcast that you now realize was unfounded?
That 1) my topic was too “woo woo” or “out there;” and so 2) no one would listen.
Tomorrow will be 2 months since the launch, and it's surreal that there have been 3654 downloads! 1576 in month 1 and 1700 in month 2.
It's interesting that the episodes I had the most anxiety about releasing have been some of the most popular.
This has helped me feel more and more confident in myself (being authentic) and the podcast.
I'm also shocked at the positive feedback (especially from people I don't know) and that there are people listening in other countries!
It feels really good to be putting out a resource that listeners are finding meaningful, helpful, and inspiring.
2. How has the Healthcasters community helped your podcasting journey?
Having a safe, supporting community where I can see podcasters at different places in the podcasting journey share their wins and struggles and everything in-between has been amazing.
I've been able to get feedback and support from the community from everything to technical issues to topic selection to logo design and more.
I am continually learning from and being inspired by fellow Healthcasters, supporting them as they support me in this journey.
3. How has the Healthcasters course helped you as a podcaster?
It has taken the idea of launching a podcast from this huge undertaking (I compare it to my dissertation) and broke it down into do-able, simple steps.
4. What’s an unexpected opportunity that’s come up from launching your podcast?
The relationships w/ guests, the learning from guests during interviews, getting the podcast out to an international audience.
My practice is full and I have raised my rates since the podcast launched. New clients are not even asking me what my fee is.
5. What are some ways you have or are planning to create additional income streams through podcasting?
Not sure yet. Some ideas floating around, some kind of subscription group or community or both, maybe an intensive course.
