Yet another cancelation.

You hadn't anticipated that one.

You're left wondering how you're going to make up the difference.

One of the easiest way to make additional income from your private practice website is through affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is where a person or company pays you a fee in exchange for placing a link to their item on your website.

The best part is that once you set up your affiliate product is setup (ANOTHER ARTICLE Plus back link the step by step guide to setting up your first affiliate product)

Once set up, you will get paid anytime someone purchases through your unique link, which is a great way to create a passive income stream from your therapy website.

Commissions from items can vary from few cents to hundreds of dollars per sale (yes, you read that right!)

Unfortunately, if you scour the internet, you will find many unethical and downright sleezy ways of making affiliate sales.

I've never been a fan of such methods.

10) Let others know your page exists

I'm confident that you will have some great products on your Resource page.

But that won't matter if no one knows the page exists.

Derrick Halpern of Social Triggers, who studies the psychology of marketing, argues that 20% of our time should be dedicated to creating content but 80% of it to letting others know it exists.

I've taken that principle to heart and have found that

Show how the product works

Our brains tend to process visual information 65,0000 times faster than written information.

For example, let's say you work with client who struggle with seasonal affective disorder and want to promote a light therapy device like .

Instead of writing a review of the product, a smarter thing to do is to email the folks who created the item, letting them that you're thinking about promoting the item to your clients (also mention how many clients you see weekly or how many visitors you get your website as this will provide them incentive), and ask them if they would be willing to send you a free test item.  Many companies are more than happy to do this because it's free promotion for them.  The cost of them sending you the item is well worth it if it means that 5 or 10 people who watch your video buy the product.

Next, create a video or some way to show you using it and put it on Vinmeo and You Tube.  Finally, link your video to your website.
