Welcome! My guest today is Jeff Guenther, who is an LPC in Portland, Oregon. Jeff is here to share some of his expertise about creating an effective online profile. Specifically, we’ll discuss how to improve the wording on profiles and what an effective “call to action” should be. Join us!
Jeff discusses the following aspects of our topic:
- Should you include your credentials and training in your profile?
- Think of your profile as the “door” to your website.
- Mention credentials and training to establish your authority, professionalism, and to build rapport with potential clients.
- Include what you are most passionate about.
- Targeting your ideal client should be the 2nd priority.
- How can you create a profile that stands out from others?
- Be straightforward.
- Get the potential client to visualize what they will experience with your practice.
- What are the best ways to structure your online profile?
- Have a balance between paragraphs and bite-size sentences.
- Use lists, but not exclusively.
- Consider using the following key words for maximum effectiveness: collaborate, peace, free, homework, and include what town you’re from.
- Use approachable, straightforward language in conversational sentences.
- If you include any technical jargon, then be sure to define the words.
- What are the best ways to use a “call to action?”
- These are vital to give potential clients guidance as to what you want them to do next.
- Jeff shares his Top Three Tips for an effective online profile:
- Use multiple ones, and not just one.
- Encourage them to email, call, fill out information, or click through to your website.
- The words “learn more” are effective.
- Put your call to action at the end of profile text, but near the top of the page can work well also.
- Be approachable and friendly.
- Display your authority.
- Give a call to action.
